He Inhabits Our Praises

Psalm 22:3 - But You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel.

I was conversing with God this morning! I was praising Him for the day. Like a broken record, if you remember them, I got stuck on the fact that we can speak to Him because He is alive. He inhabits our praises. The scripture may say Israel, but it means anyone who wants to worship Him. Imagine, when we praise Him with our mouth He is there. He joys in those praises. I read these words last week and am still thinking on them. He inhabits our praises...He dwells there. How much closer can a God get?

What got me was the thought that we don't need something to look at to pray to. When we pray it is to Him, not something that looks like Him or reminds us of Him. We pray directly to Him. He is there though we do not see Him. How awesome He is.

Thank you, Lord, that Your plan has always been for Your people to worship You so You could inhabit their praises. You crave our attention. You crave fellowship and communion with us. You desire that we acknowledge You. And You are forever alive. You have given us the greatest opportunity to be near You, to be in relationship with You. You have made the Way, as it were, through Jesus Christ. For that we glorify Your name. No other name, no other object or thing. A relationally-based God. Praise You!

Your word clearly states to place nothing before You. The only One we should place before You is Jesus. He is the One situated between man and God. Without Him we cannot successfully or sufficiently come before You. And we are also asked to put our faith and trust in what we cannot see. Yet, without our seeing You, You maintain relationship when we become Your children. You are a blessing to those who trust in You. That is all too wonderful.

Lord God, turn the eyes of the world upon You. As the sun rises in the morning, so Your Son rises within our hearts. There is none like You, O God. Your glory is revealed in all things. Let me help to reveal Your glory to those around me.

Thank You for inhabiting my praises, praises only due to the Lord of all creation.

To add to this, I once heard a lesson on the Holy Spirit. We were told that we tend to forget that He is is vitally important in all this. We must have His power and we must acknowledge Him as well. Let Your Holy Spirit lead us in our prayers, Lord. Let Your Spirit well up within us to do Your will. We should not exclude Him.

John 20:29 - Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
