Christ Our Lord

Hebrews 1:1-4 - God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

A break, sort of, from the Book of John. Over the past few days John has shown these very things that Hebrews has stated.

The prophets of old told us about this Man who was to come. And then He came and spoke of Himself. Some believed, some did not.

He spoke of Himself as the Son of God...who first created all things, who was (and is) the light of the world, being the brightness of God's glory, and who has the power to uphold all things by the very power of His words (of truth). Only He has purged us from our sins if we first believe in Him.

This scripture in Hebrews showing us the more excellent way is just another one of many confirmations of who He says He is, Christ our Lord, THE more excellent Way. It would be good to heed them.

Ephesians 3:14-19 - For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
