From Everlasting to Everlasting, You are God

Hebrews 11:3 - By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.

Psalm 90:2 - Before the mountains were born or You gave birth to the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

God created the heavens and the earth and all things on the earth. It's as simple as that. Some scientists spend all their life searching for a definitive answer regarding the creation of this world. I've listened to some and get frustrated. I don't discount everything because what they explain could have been done...but not just by physical forces of nature. My question to them would be "and who created the elements that brought about the forces?" It's a question that could be asked of each of their answers. Somewhere someone had to get the ball rolling. And I wonder WHO that would be?

My husband, Jim, and I saw the movie Expelled by Ben Stein when it first came out. It is an  outstanding movie if you are a believer in intelligent design. I watched it again on satellite last week and applaud Stein for seeking out and playing with the minds of scientists regarding the truth. I especially enjoyed the end when he interviewed Richard Dawkins who is a prominent biological theorist/athiest/evolutionist. In response to his theory of evolution, Stein kept asking "and how did that happen; who did that?" At one point a clearly frustrated Dawkins surprisingly admitted he believed somewhere a very long time ago there was some sort of designer. The cameras stopped rolling and in a voiceover you could hear Stein saying, "What??? Did he say designer?"

So here we have a most prominent scientist stating there must have been a designer, an alien of sorts. When I think of the word alien I think of the words that tell us we are strangers in this land...that our real home, our real inheritance, is not on this earth but in heaven and in the Kingdom of God, all created by Him...through Jesus Christ. There is a faith chapter in the Bible, Hebrews 11. It lists many men and women who never saw the coming of Jesus but because their faith in this unseen God was so strong they just clung to their beliefs. It's a wonderful testimony, well worth the read.

Hebrews 11:13 - These* all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. *These are believers who have put their faith in that unseen God

The promises? The promises of eternal life in Christ to those who choose to have faith in Him. The promises that there is a bigger and better life that God has created for those who choose to follow Him. The promise that although this is a world He has created for us to enjoy, it's only a stepping stone to the greater place He has in Heaven.

Like Hebrews 11 tells us, it takes faith to believe in something you can't see or of which you don't have proof positive. And we are to come with the faith of a little child, not an intellectual, into our belief in God and His Son Jesus...and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Anyone can receive Jesus...anyone.

I pity Richard Dawkins and others who have this mindset that there has to be a logical answer. But God... He is able to reach them and anyone who doubts. There is a logical answer but their intellect won't allow something so "illogical" to be believed. There is an Intelligent Designer. Life with this knowledge, this truth, takes more faith than anything science can tell us. It's all about believing in something you cannot see. Choose to believe in this Designer, this world Creator, this life Creator and this everlasting life Creator, and you have that faith of a child. Take a look around you and take notice of all He has created for you on earth. Then remember you are no more than passing through when you choose Jesus for a life that is Heaven bound.

Romans 1:20 - For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
