Ach!

Psalm 51:16-17 - For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart—these, O God, You will not despise.

We can do nothing of ourselves to win God's affection. We cannot work harder at this or that or be better people in our own strength. All He requires is our hearts and spirits, humbly coming to Him. That's all He wants. Why is that so difficult? Why are we such prideful people that we cannot loosen up, let go and just allow Him to have full access to our lives? Ach!

He has so much to offer and we so often refuse. But He is willing to forgive if we just speak up!

Psalm 51:3-4, 6 - For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Your sight—that You may be found just when You speak, and blameless when You judge. Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.
